Fun in the morning

I took my son to the dentist the other day. He had a small cavity in one of his primary teeth. It didn't need any freezing so the dentist said he could have something to eat and drink right afterwards. I could tell my son was in no hurry to get to school after the appointment. So I took him out for a treat. We also ran down the up escalator on our way out of the medical building. We both enjoyed being silly.

Beatles Forever!

Finally got the Beatles mono set I ordered a couple of months ago from Amazon. I'd always wanted to have all the Beatles albums together, since my collection was a mish-mash of some vinyl albums, some cassettes and a few CDs. So after speaking with a couple of Beatle-maniacs at work I decided the mono box was the best bet, rather than the stereo set. I'll be posting my impressions of the box set. Just for fun.

Disappointing Bat Guano

So I finally got to see The Dark Knight on DVD and I really don't understand what all the fuss was about. It really isn't that good. Sure there are a lot of expensive special effects, explosions and shiny gadgets but the plot is silly, the sound patchy and the editing awful. In most of the action scenes you can't even see what's happening. Heath Ledger is good but didn't we already know that? Yikes, go rent Brokeback Mountain if you want to see acting, as opposed to a performance.

Oh yeah. Note to Michael Caine: enough of the Cockney folk-wisdom crap. It's really getting to be annoying, mate.
